Small business owners are very good many things, but taking time off is not one of them. Americans in general are in more hours than workers in other industrialized country, but for many entrepreneurs, there is no such thing as a 40-hour week and taking a vacation may seem like a far fetched fantasy.

• Make a decision to set a date and mark your calendar. (It is advisable to choose the slowest time of the year in your company.)
